Our story
How a group of friends in Surrey built a volleyball club for the Telugu community.
Deccan United started in 2024 when a group of Telugu friends in Surrey wanted a regular, competitive game and a reason for families to get together on weekends. What began as pickup volleyball grew into a club with jerseys, sponsors and its own tournament.
Today we host our own tournament day, compete in community tournaments around BC, and bring families together around the court. Everyone is welcome to play, watch, volunteer or sponsor.

How we got here
- 2024

What we stand for
A home for Telugu athletes
A place for Telugu-speaking players across the Lower Mainland to compete, improve and be seen.
Family first
Our events are built for families: kids’ competitions, food from local vendors and a full day out.
Everyone plays
All skill levels are welcome, and players without a team can join through the club.
